my latest instrumental craving

My Mom's latest issue of "Dulcimer Times" included an article on something called the "bowed dulcimer." It looked so medieval that I had to check it out. I'm afraid I may have fallen in love. I've played the viola off and on since the fourth grade. The bowed dulcimer sounds a bit like a viola but with a more reedy, rustic sound that would go so well with the traditional American and Celtic music that I love to play. Unfortunately, the least expensive model I've found is nearly $700, which is well beyond my budget. Oh well, we all need something just out of our reach to daydream about, right?

a new beginning?

Fort Hays University should be receiving my KU and Colby CC transcripts within the week. If they deem them acceptable, I'll be enrolling in one or more online classes. Ft. Hays offers several Bachelor's degrees online, so I'll be meeting online or over the phone with an admisisons counselor to find the right one for me. My criteria are 1) uses as many of the credits I already have as possible and 2) easy. Seminaries only care that I have a Bachelor's from an accredited institution. The Bachelor's in Organizational Leadership looks promising. They will also work with you to customize a Bachelor's in General Education. Hmmm...I wonder if I could get by with Advanced Cat Herding, or perhaps Theories in Navel Gazing?
